WEB Water Development Association Wins Best Tasting Drinking Water in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems (SDARWS) recognized WEB Water Development Association as the winner of the Best Tasting Drinking Water in South Dakota contest during the SDARWS Annual Technical Conference on January 14, 2026, in Pierre, South Dakota.

WEB Water’s sample was selected as the top entry among 17 submissions from rural and municipal water systems across the state. Samples were evaluated on clarity, bouquet, and taste by a panel of judges including South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Secretary Hunter Roberts, and Michael Sims, Source Water Protection Specialist for the California Rural Water Association.

As the state winner, WEB Water will represent South Dakota at the National Rural Water Association’s Great American Water Taste Test, held annually in conjunction with the National Rural Water Rally in Washington, D.C., in February 2027.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, South Dakota, WEB Water Development Association has a long-standing history of providing high-quality drinking water to the communities it serves. WEB has earned the Best Tasting Drinking Water in South Dakota distinction previously in 2012 and 2024, further highlighting the association’s ongoing commitment to excellence.

The SDARWS Annual Technical Conference is the largest rural water conference in South Dakota, hosting more than 650 water operators, managers, and exhibitors over three days in Pierre.
